PINOLO

Pìnolo is a theater and dance show that aims to speak to children about the importance of being free and being able to choose. Pìnolo combines the autobiographical experience of the two actors with the telling of a fairy tale: that of Pina, a little girl excluded by her friends and parents who can’t understand her, simply because she prefers playing Star Wars with toy soldiers to playing with dolls and likes blue more than pink.

So Pina takes refuge under the large tree, finally thinking she has found her space of freedom, but she continues to feel lonely. Little by little, thanks to her friendship with a pine cone, the wise advice of the pine tree, and her encounter with a snail, Pina manages to understand how to return to her own kind without having to give up what she wants to do. The show, therefore, wants to break down stereotypes and prejudices, making children understand that if they sometimes feel excluded, they must have the strength to speak up, to express themselves, without closing in on themselves, without pretending to be something they are not, imitating others and giving up their own freedom.

At the end of each performance, there will be a discussion with the children to listen to their questions and thoughts, which they can share in order to explore the issues raised during the show in greater depth, if necessary.
