The Carnival of Mantua leads spectators through the marvellous rooms of the Gonzaga residences, among frescoes, artefacts and tapestries, playing with them in a “great art and Carnival treasure hunt”.
The exploration begins at the urban palace of the Gonzaga family, Palazzo Ducale, with a visual and narrative path of discovery with which to search the various rooms for a symbol of Carnival that is also a symbol of theatre well known to all in its diminutive and less popular version: the mask and the masquerade.
Two bizarre characters explore the rooms of the Archaeological Museum and Palazzo Ducale, playing with the imagination based on the suggestions evoked by the various objects, giving stimuli and suggestions to arouse curiosity, and referring to in-depth research through suitable didactic texts.
The route suggests how to play with characters, details and stories that can be used to create a shadow theatre in which to animate the figures of masked cherubs, muses or stories from the myth of the Labours of Hercules.
Also available on SEGNI IN ONDA is the workshop “Il Carnevale a regola d’arte: teatrino d’artista” where you can download the instructions for creating the little theatre and the templates to animate inside it. Piacevolissimo ascolto, il tono ironico e simpatico ha sottolineato diversi aspetti storici compresi alla perfezione anche dai piu’ piccoli
Molto simpatica l’interazione della direttrice con la piccola 😉
