ROD – Red One Duo Company was born in the spring of 2017 as an artistic project of Nuovo Circo, from the meeting between Chiara Serges & Gabriele Gonzo. Both come from professional study paths in the field of aerial disciplines, circus and theater. Since 2016 they attend the professional course of the Scuola Romana di Circo, during which they improve the techniques of aerial acrobatics and begin to work on the use of the body through circus-theatrical languages (clowning and physical theater). At the end of this path, they decide to start a common project under the name of ROD Company. In 2017 they create the show ‘Pillole di Rosso’, combining aerial acrobatics, acrobatic holds, physical theater and elements of clowning, and bring it on stage at events and festivals throughout Southern Italy. Starting that year, they are selected to attend the FLIC School of Circus and are mentored by directors, playwrights and circus actors of international caliber.
