Principio Attivo Teatro

A professional artistic collective moving in different areas of the performing arts, made up of actors, playwrights, set designers and pedagogues who have been working together for over fifteen years: Dario Cadei, Stefania Giunco, Silvia Lodi, Otto Marco Mercante, Cristina Mileti, Giuseppe Semeraro, Francesca Randazzo, Raffaella Romano, Adamo Toma.

Principio Attivo Teatro was established in 2007 and is mainly involved in theatrical production, obtaining several awards over the years, including the EOLO Awards for best play (2010), the EOLO Awards for best dramaturgy (2014), the Museo Cervi ‘Teatro per la memoria’ award (2020) and the critics’ award at the Ermo Colle Festival (2022).

Principio Attivo Teatro co-directs the Festival Kids, a theatre and arts festival for new generations in Lecce and I Teatri della Cupa, a contemporary theatre festival in the municipalities of Novoli, Campi Salentina and Trepuzzi. Since 2018, the Company has been recognised by the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Tourism (MIBACT) as an Innovation theatre production company in the field of theatre for children and youths (D.M. 27 July 2017 Art.13 paragraph 3).
