Compagnie de la Casquette is a theatre company dedicated mainly to young audiences.
It was founded in 1983 by Philippe Jolet, Gérard Corbion, Luc Devreese and Isabelle Verlaine, all graduates of the Théâtre des Jeunes de la ville de Bruxelles.
The Compagnie de la Casquette stages a wide range of shows designed to appeal to the audience’s sensitivity, humour and imagination, as well as their perception and critical thinking on the complexity of the world and human relationships.
The touring focuses mainly on the school circuit, where children from all walks of life can have equal access to culture. The company also performs in programmes for families and for the general public, making the theatre a meeting place for different generations.
The company believes that it is in this context, with an audience from all walks of life, that its work is most meaningful and can have the greatest impact and resonance.
To date, the Compagnie de la Casquette has given thousands of performances in Belgium and abroad (France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Japan, Russia, etc.). It has won numerous prizes, mentions and awards.
