A performance proposed by Theater de Krakeling, a partner in the European ForesTEEN project:
A Country Inside My Head tells the honest, funny and raw stories of young girls who come to the Netherlands to build a new life. Based on interviews, stories have been collected about feeling at home, starting over and growing up in a new culture.
In the performance, we follow Afia, who left Ghana for the Netherlands with her parents a few years ago. She is making a film for her sister, who will soon make the same journey. In this way, Afia hopes to prepare her sister for life in the Netherlands and to show how you can build a new life as a young woman in a foreign country.
