George Tobal

Actor, Director, Theater maker

George graduated in 2012 from the Amsterdam Theater & Kleinkunst Academie.

He started as an 18 year old boy with theater group DOX where he played for 3 years. He did his internship at the Utrecht Games in “Hamlet” and at Bos Theater Productions in “Calendar Girls”. In 2011, he made his solo performance “Vertreksvergunning”, with which he won De Parade Parel and Best of IT’s tour.

He played in “Swap” by Floris van Delft, “Kust” by the RO under the direction of Alize Zandwijk and in “Troje Trilogie” by Paul Knieriem. Since 2012, he has been writing and performing together with Eran Ben-Michaël. Together they developed and performed The “George & Eran Solve World Peace” trilogy and “The Flight of a Pomegranate”. She also co-directed the show “The Future ain’t what it used to be” at Theater Dox. He wrote the co-production with the Toneelmakerij “Woestijn Jasmijntjes”

He can also be seen in various films and TV series such as “Noordzuid”, “Com vs Killer” and “Project Orpheus”. In the series “Papadag” George plays one of the leading roles and for the movie “Jungle” he received a Golden Calf for best leading role together with Majd Mardo.

Finally, George is a teacher at the Amsterdam Theater and Cabaret Academy
