Giulia Albanese is Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Padua. In her studies she has dealt with the historical origins of fascism, the phenomena of political violence and authoritarian cultures. She has published the essays: Alle origini del fascismo. La violenza politica a Venezia 1919-1922 (Il Poligrafo, 2001); La marcia su Roma (Laterza, 2006 and 2014); Dittature mediterranee (Laterza, 2016); Il fascismo italiano. Storia e interpretazioni (Carocci, 2021). With Roberta Pergher she edited the volume In the society of Fascists: Acclamation, Acquiescience and Agency in Mussolini’s Italy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012).
